I'm back and boy am I glad I left those wonderfull tidbits of poop for you guys to stare at for a month. Not only was the stock I bounced on (RIMM) up distinctively from this point but the three recomendations (SHRP, EBHI, SNDK) all took it on the chin. Oh well, at least the Dinosaur Trader is re-reading Atlas Shrugged so maybe there is room for hope in Galt's World after all.
Low and behold although this may not be the bottom of the market I always say that there are always good stocks out there to pick up. I think Fly's IIG after it shed 20% is in for more of a bounce then its 24 cent uptick in afterhours to 17.38. Then there's RIMM which I do think is still a buy at 131.06. SNDK hit 40.00 and if I liked it at 50 I love it at 40.
I rode RFMD to 7 once and dumped so heck why not rock it again here @ 6.03.
WYNN at this point if it tanks another 10% from 138 should be taken into consideration despite the remarks from a patron last time I was in Vegas that his room contained an "infestation of insects". Wynn and Adelson control Macau and, IMO, there's many Asians enjoying the 'lottery' out there and will want somewhere to dump their cash.
Outlandish predictions in commodities:
Gold- 900 by end of the year and 1000 by mid February.
Oil- Falls back to a 'reasonable' low $80's per barrel also by mid-February
Dollar- Won't drop as noticeably as it has been lately but an ETF like FXE should still remain a safe cog in anyone's portfolio
Till next time,
John Galt Jr.

I've Gone Mad
All right in summary:
Out:
RIMM: 30 @ 115.8 I made enough off of this in a real short time. I shall find it at a lower price in the future.
In:
SHRP: 900 @ 3.56 This is tossing the sword up in the air and hoping to catch the blade between two fingers.
EBHI: 230 @ 8.70 I'm feeling lucky. I think the rich'll keep spending regardless of the market or tax debates.
SNDK: Looking to double up if it falls below 51. Good company I think they'll beat the crap outta expectations come Christmas.
Good luck,

RIMM RFMD RAD
I guess I've been on an R kick lately. Don't know what the deal is but it certainly has worked out well.
Since purchase:
RIMM: +16.57%
RFMD: +14.15%
RAD: -2.17%
RAD was down worse than that so @ down a dime I'll take it. I'm buying 60 of SNDK @52.14. We'll see how that turns out. It's the downer of the day on my list but I've been eye-balling it for some time now so it's time to shit or get off the pot. PNRA up today as well. Bold prediction: Gold 800 be4 the Super Bowl.

Kinda Ugly
Kinda getting to be an ugly day. Few +'s though, PNRA & JSDA with RAD making back some ground.
I guess I didn't clarify a date on some CROX puts but I'd go with December. In all reality I think, despite obvious trends and past history, that December will be when a couple walls come tumbling down. That's been my prediction since around February so we'll see if I'm as good at predicting market trends as I am baseball games.
Rough patches for the day include AEO, ZUMZ, SLW, CAT, (I took a nibble). But no giant losses so I'm flirting with even for the day.
Late day buy possibilities: SNDK, I know I said no tech but they're undervalued because they'll take more of the market share then expected come the holidays. I'm gonna take an extra swig (100 shares) of SLW at 13.30. RIMM's still cheap so I'll dive in with 30 shares at 96.53. Other than that the market may not look pretty again tomorrow (for a 3rd day in a row). Just my two cents.

New Blood
I figure let's get some new blood in there to change things up a bit. I hadn't owned EBAY in awhile and despite the Skype write-off this is still a money maker. Therefore, I went with 100 shares @ 39.28 especially considering it has shown its first upside tick of the day. SLW, GLD, JSDA, AMZN=not pretty. ZUMZ, PNRA, RFMD=so so. NFLX may have backed off enough @ 20.84 to be a cheapish buy. I'll personally start seeking positions at 20.75. BBI has been the one on a tear in the rental sector. AEO may be in the same boat as well. I'm gonna enter under 25. As far as a DOW component I'd roll with either big MO or CAT. I think MO still has some upside and CAT is undervalued. Little known CBST Cubist Pharmy is showing some good upside momentum. Ok that's enough spaghetti on the wall for one moment. On the sector side I think tech might be near a saturation point. I just don't think holiday expectations are going to be met and tech along with retail usually get the stick in the eye first.
Good luck,

I Drank the Kool-Aid
So I thought it was a new improved kool-aid called Rite-Aid. Apparently it was poison in a bottle. Oh well can't dwell on one turd. ZUMZ and PNRA were there to pick up the pieces. RFMD and BCO aren't making a bad run at things at all either. Here's a tidbit buy some CROX puts @ 65. I had a dream that there were more of you peeps out there reading this so it better happen. I mean heck I proved I can forsee the future in baseball at least. (Bye Mets!) Still going with AMZN, GLD, SLW. WMT's showin life, careful there it could be rigor mortis. I must admit that the Fly's IIG is looking pretty at 23.25. If it's still cheap tomorrow I'll take a nibble. Till next time,

Ramblin' Man
I just feel like ramblin so bear with me or bounce. Currently I'm blogging from a local bar playing online poker and rooting for the hometeam Rockies to keep themselves in the WC race. How's that for the life? Anyhow, I can't help but think about the only real dog that I've picked coming up short in yesterday's free for all. RAD will come around and therefore, I've doubled down already @ 6.60 and it's up 5 cents from there. I wouldn't bet the farm on it but hey I'm just tossing around some of that JSDA money. That's the way to roll. Oh and another thing, not to start battles or a war but screw the Mets, the Fly won't know what hit'em when they're outta the playoffs and the Rox take charge. And one last thing, I absolutely without a doubt hate the shit outta pocket J's. Fold that garbage to a reraise no matter what. I don't care if the world is catching fire and this'll be the last thing you ever do on earth. Dump'em like the fatty you hooked up with over the weekend.

RAD
This thing has bit the dust and I still maintain that it's ripe to get purchased or get things turned around. It has hit 4.80 twice recently since it turned sour from 6+ so I figure it's got some support here. If not the lowest IMO that it'll go is 4.40. So in that regard I went ahead and grabbed 1000 @4.79. Got a nice rise out of JSDA so far today. Too bad I didn't take fly and razorback's advice and go in on BWLD. For some reason I figured PNRA would have the outbreak week. We shall see it literally just now started moving in the + direction. So far haven't gotten much outta RFMD or BCO. Looks like I'll actually have to hold these for more than 24 hours. What a shame. SBUX management is highly overrated. Thankfully I got most cash outta there but of course I am holding the bag for 100 shares. It was a dice roll--that happens.

Oh Lucky Day
I don't know why Cramer says not to trade in the last hour. The guy's a madman. I make a majority of profits late in the day. I.E. Picking up some ODP at 19.20 at the last minute and ditched it moments ago at 20.61. Not a bad gain for 24 hours. Too bad it was marred by SLW, but that's the risk you take with a relatively bear stock on a bull day.
JSDA up again another 4% to 9.80. So that's almost a 10% gain just since I've been touting it here. (I started DCA'ing down at about 8.75.) Also, along with ODP I picked up some PNRA @ 40.75 (tragically only 50 shares b/c I was gonna DCA if it starting going towards the dark side.) PNRA's up a little from there. I'm not selling it today, I think it's got more left in it.
I almost pulled the trigger on AEO yesterday along with the ODP and PNRA play. What a three headed monster that woulda been. And NFLX is still up there on my gainer list for the day, staring down and mocking me for my stupidity. That thing was 70% shorted just a few days ago and now is shorted only 28%. You talk about shorts running for cover.
RFMD. There's the pick of the week. 900 shares 6.36. Still can't forget BCO and I don't care that some hedgy bleeding money holds $90 million worth of it. It shall prosper yet I say. http://www.dealbreaker.com/2007/09/post_501.php#more
Good luck to all,
John G.

Tuesday's Lameness.
Nothing terribly exciting. Nothing like waking up to Bush's derilectable face on the TV. NFLX and EXPE both up over 5%. Shoulda listened to my brother on that one. I've been in and out fo NFLX on a regular basis and caught a solid profit so I don't know how I let the thing reach 20 w/o me. Oh yea I thought the market'd tank. Where the hell was that? Oh well we had a cooling off after a viscous beginning yesterday so maybe the market's creating a bottom or more likely IMO, it's the calm before the storm. Staying safe might creep into some ODP here as it's approaching it's 52-wk lows and bring in some more BCO (75 shares already held.) Here's one for the riskiest of you all: SHRP. I've stayed away from this thing since it's harder to rope than capturing a pic of the Dinosaur Trader humping. If I were even more of a risk taker I'd say that if it falls to 3.75 or so and maybe just maybe shows some support then it's well worth picking up. After all aren't all the CNBC tools spewing that the rich'll still be out there buying? Glad I burned and turned TGT that thing was apparently a timebomb hiding in the lurch. Ah yes one last one. PNRA under 40=money in the bank. It's at 40.80 right now and I'm gonna start DCA'ing ($/Cost Avg.) here at 40.50. Buenos nachos ustedes.

Self Explanatory Day on Wall Street
Actual rate cut>expected rate cut=market^. Easy math. I'll make it short today. It won't last long especially if some of tomorrows numbers come out a little fuzzy. Enjoy it while it lasts. Thanks to TGT and FCX I'm having Gentleman's Jack with my lady tonight. This time I dumped my remaining shares of everything except the 'safety's,' JSDA and AMZN as the only exceptions.
Cheers!

I am ALIVE!
Laptop+gentle smack=fried hard drive. Not the first time or probably the last time I've put my laptop out of commission. On a brighter note I didn't miss a spectacularly exciting day on Friday. Today though was pretty good for some of my picks. GLD, +1.4%, WYNN +1.69%, YHOO+.89%, BRY+2.3%. Wishin I included not only BBI with NFLX (NFLX+3.89% BTW) but also LVS along with WYNN. Gotta hit those sector movements when the opportunity arises. ZUMZ also +.78%, teenage girls love this place. Misses include JSDA -.76%, TGT -1.71%, AMZN, -.98%, EXPE -.86% and after a big run-up FCX -.64%. I don't have my source for master sorting but to pick some favorable's for this upcoming week is like trying to shave the balls of an orangutang. The 'safety's' as always, FXE, GLD, SLW. I still like BCO as a sleeper. It doesn't look like an action stock but trust me if the economy slips and society starts going buck-nutty with the thefts then BCO'll be the 1st place businesses call to put a stop to that nonsense. BKC took a hefty hit down to 25.14 up to 25.30 in after hours but still worth a shot. LVLT sux and I hope you all ignored that misguided manifestation of my mind. Stick with YHOO they're finally getting the hint and buying up some smaller companies that'll help their growth rates and maybe even their search functions if they're lucky. Ah then there's PHO, looks like it's time to get back into water. All right that's enough hints you gotta find the rest of the treasures yourselves.

Reset
I think it's probably time to reset the ol' portfolio. Put most of your money in cash. The thing is that the following data reports are coming up (thanks to http://www.briefing.com/Investor/Public/Calendars/EconomicCalendar.htm):
Retail sales 9-14, Biz inventories 9-14, CPI 9-19, Core CPI 9-19, Housing Starts 9-19, and Building Permits 9-19
I don't foresee good results out of any of these statistics. Could be a rough couple of weeks but to throw in some fresh scraps there's BCO which is near it's 52-week low. LVLT is near it's 52-week low keep in mind it is typically highly volatile. If you think oil's going to keep it up there's always BRY. FCX is 8 points off of their highs. If you're optimistic then there are options out there but I'll still recommend the 'safetys' GLD, SLW, FXE. We'll see how it all pans out. Shout out to JGJ's brother Anthony Galt whose birthday is today!

Not a bad top 3 of 4
So AEO, WYNN and SLW turned out to be all right picks. With gains today of 8.85%, 4.64% and 4.30% they were 3 of the top 4 out of all the stocks that I watch on a daily basis. The other being ERTS which held its own up 4.46% so far. And since apparently I can only see things 2 days in advance I'll say for Thursday that this shit's going doooooown. Look to cherry pick afterwards though that's where the GLD is buried.
Cheers,

Couple $ Stocks
NFLX will be part of the future of obtaining videos & AAPL which might also enter the market is still relatively cheap after the entire rebate debacle. AMZN might be at a decent price hanging around 84 preclose. Go tech that's all I can say. When the Fed cuts rates (despite my own objections) do you think that people will plunk their money back INTO the hommies and financials? Not so much. Therefore, as bandwagon as these may be MVIS is kinda cheap 4.78 and EXPE will dip a little further below its current 28.80 be4 grasping its potential. And DAMN IT JSDA! Now they're getting sued but in all reality how much worse can it get? Yea Yea famous last words. How about we shall see who gets the last laugh?

Optimism vs. Pessimism
If you're a bull or foresee an uptick in the market at the beginning of next week then you can go with the following: ZUMZ, TGT, TKF or maybe FXI, EWZ, and AEO
If you're a bear or forsee a downtick in the market here in the near future you can go this direction: GLD, SLW, FXE, BUD, WYNN
Or if you have balls of steel then load up on gobs of each and ride the volatility wave. And maybe now's a better time to get in on JSDA can't really beat 9.00. There's not much more downside that can be seen here. They're gonna get any kind of distribution kinks out by next Q's earnings and they'll be ready to lock and load.

Scrum Digging
For all those out there looking for the occasional diamond in the rough you may want to check out JSDA Jones Soda which has been thoroughly beaten down. Another bet is that in another month it'll be time to load back up with FXE and bet against the dollar again. Always a good low risk option. YHOO & EBAY both seem to be continuing their ride let's hope that lasts for awhile.

Tip of the Iceberg
Here goes an intro! I play cards and watch the stock market all day. I'll give advice on both. If I include politics, philosophy or economics just deal with it. To follow any of this may go against your better judgement but you may just thank me in the morning. It's better than flushing $40 down the toilet and asking your roommate to kick you in the balls so enjoy.
